Outcomes Reporting
It is anticipated that by 2014 a national Health Information Network (HIN) will be in place. Currently there are Health Information Organizations (HIO), Health Information Exchanges (HIE) and on a regional level, Regional Health Information Organizations (RHIO), Regional Health Information Networks (RHIN) and grants available for the formation of Regional Extension Centers (REC). There may be a requirements starting in 2012 to report quality measurements not only to CMS but also to registries or a national or regional Health Information Network.
